Diabetes, Hypoglycemia

Diabetes is a growing concern in this country. The phrase “diabesity” has been coined to reflect the association between diabetes and obesity. Diets high in refined carbohydrates and low in fresh vegetables lead to insulin resistance which leads to pre-diabetes which can progress to Diabetes Type II (once called adult-onset diabetes). Fortunately diabetes is a preventable, and sometimes reversible, disease.  Dr. Potter usually treats pre-diabetes with a diet low in refined carbohydrates and sugar as well as a variety of nutrients including chromium, biotin, niacin, magnesium, among others.
